WoPU Congratulates Yari, Says Appointment Will Strengthen APC’s 2027 Presidential Campaign

Working People United (WoPU) has congratulated Distinguished Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari, CON, on his appointment as the Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 presidential election.

The National Coordinator-General, Comrade Prince Williams Enredonana Akporeha, described Senator Yari’s appointment as a strategic decision that reflects the confidence of the APC leadership in his political experience, organisational capacity and ability to mobilise stakeholders across the country.

He said Senator Yari’s years of experience as a former Governor of Zamfara State, Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and seasoned political leader have prepared him for the enormous responsibility of coordinating the party’s presidential campaign.

Comrade Prince Williams noted that the 2027 presidential election will be significant to the future direction of Nigeria, particularly as the country continues to navigate economic reforms and efforts to strengthen national development.

According to him, the appointment of Senator Yari provides the APC with an experienced hand capable of coordinating the party’s structures, deepening grassroots mobilisation and effectively communicating the policies, programmes and achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to Nigerians.

“Senator Abdulaziz Yari is a tested political leader with considerable experience in governance, party organisation and grassroots mobilisation. His appointment is a clear demonstration of the confidence reposed in his capacity to lead a campaign of national significance.

“We are confident that he will bring discipline, strategic coordination and the necessary political experience to the assignment while ensuring that the campaign effectively reaches Nigerians across all regions and sectors.”

He further emphasised that the interests and aspirations of Nigeria’s working people must remain central to the political conversation ahead of the 2027 election.

WoPU, which brings together workers, professionals, entrepreneurs, artisans, civil servants, youths, women, students, market leaders and retirees, said it would continue to advocate for policies that promote economic opportunity, decent livelihoods, social inclusion and improved living standards for Nigerians.

The organisation commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC leadership and members of the Presidential Campaign Council for the confidence reposed in Senator Yari.

WoPU also congratulated other members of the newly constituted campaign council and urged them to work collectively in the interest of the party and the Nigerian people.
